Stories of Change
Behind every number is a life transformed.
From Curiosity to Leadership
Grace joined her local Bible Club at age 10, curious about the trees older children were planting. Within a year, she had planted twelve seedlings at her family's homestead and was teaching younger children about soil conservation.
Today, Grace leads her Bible Club's weekly planting sessions and dreams of studying environmental science. Her family's harvest has improved since the trees stabilized their hillside soil.
A Community Transformed
When TIDA established its first nursery in Rwinkwavu, the surrounding hillsides were bare and eroding. Local farmers were losing topsoil with every rain, and harvests were declining year after year.
Two years later, over 2,400 trees dot the landscape. Buffer zones protect waterways, fruit trees supplement family nutrition, and the nursery itself has become a community gathering place where faith and stewardship intersect.
