25,600 Seedlings Milestone
TIDA's network of community tree nurseries has reached a landmark production capacity of 25,600 native seedlings per year — a fourfold increase from our first year of operations.
The nurseries, managed by trained community members across four districts, produce a mix of indigenous forest species and fruit-bearing trees. Native species support biodiversity restoration, while fruit trees provide long-term food security and income for participating families.
This milestone reflects years of investment in community training, nursery infrastructure, and partnerships with local government forestry programs. Each nursery operates as a self-sustaining community enterprise, with members sharing both the work and the harvest.
Looking ahead, TIDA aims to expand the nursery network to six districts by the end of 2025, with a target of 40,000 seedlings annually.
